Background
The Rapid Response Fund is a grant opportunity that supports emergency and/or time-sensitive needs of organizations and communities whose work aligns with the BeSuccessful Community Capacity Building Initiative to face the challenges of workforce development, public safety, community organizational capacity building, economic development, and quality of life in District B.
Who can apply?
This funding opportunity is for non-profit organizations or civic clubs/super neighborhood organizations in the City of Houston’s District B area, including Acres Homes, Northeast Houston, Greenspoint, and Humble.
Your application will serve as a letter of intent and will go into our general pool for consideration. We do not have the capacity to fund every proposal, we review submissions weekly and the application is open on a rolling basis.
Application Deadline and Decision Dates
Inquiries will be accepted on a rolling basis through September 1, 2023.
Notification of our decision will be sent directly to the recipient by the 7th day after the submission.
Application Requirements
BeSuccessful Capacity Building Small Grant application utilizes an application form.
Emergency refers to an unexpected and unplanned event or situation that requires an immediate and time-limited response.
Time-sensitive refers to opportunities that are short-term in duration (usually within the next few months) and purpose.
Rapid Response Fund grants do not support:
- Ongoing operations, programs, or activities
- Requests to replace existing sources of funding
- Political events/ affiliations or support
- Sponsorship of events for organizational promotion
Grant Details:
- If your proposal is not selected, you are eligible to apply for funding in the next 6 months.
- There will be a hold on your application if your organization has been a recipient of District B’s District Service Funds or the BeSuccessful Small Grant within the last 12 months.
- Once a recipient is awarded, they may not apply again until the following year.
- As a condition of the grant award, grantees shall agree to submit a final report, detailed deliverables will be provided in the notification letter.
